Junior Data Analyst

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing New York-based organization, for a Junior Data Analyst to join their analytics team. This fully remote role is a great fit for someone early in their career who loves digging into numbers, spotting trends, and turning raw data into insights that help teams make smarter decisions.

Day to day, you will pull data from multiple sources, clean and organize it, and build reports and dashboards that stakeholders across the business actually use. The best candidates are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions when the data does not add up, while also being eager to learn new tools and analytical techniques from more senior teammates.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize data from internal and external sources
• Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Support senior analysts with ad hoc data requests
• Document data definitions, processes, and report logic
• Assist in validating data accuracy across systems
• Present findings in clear, digestible formats for non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs
• Monitor key metrics and flag unusual changes
• Help maintain data quality standards and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience
• Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Familiarity with SQL or willingness to learn quickly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate technical findings in plain language
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
• Basic understanding of statistics
• Strong problem-solving mindset
