Description of Work
Hourly Range: $33.91 - $50.86
This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency's remote work program but does require weekly onsite work.

We currently have an opening for a Junior DevOps Associate; this is a temporary supplemental position with North Carolina Department of Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
The Junior DevOps Associate will work alongside senior platform staff to support the development and maintenance of AWS-based cloud infrastructure for the Digital Solutions Drupal 10 platform and its associated web services. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to grow in cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps practices.

The Digital Services team of the Department of Information Technology provides enterprise-level Drupal and associated web applications for State agency websites that enable both State employee and citizen interactions.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
Foundational knowledge of Linux systems administration (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, or similar)
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly, troubleshoot issues, and ask effective questions
Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar)

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution,
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development,
OR
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
