The Junior Project Engineer will support the engineering, production, and project management teams throughout the life cycle of fabrication projects. This role is ideal for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate or someone with 1-3 years of experience who wants exposure to real-world manufacturing, engineering review, procurement, quality control, and customer projects.
The successful candidate will work directly with experienced leadership and play a critical role in helping projects move from award through delivery.
Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Support
Review project specifications, plans, and contract documents
Assist with shop drawing and submittal review
Coordinate engineering documentation between customers, vendors, and internal teams
Support technical reviews of fabrication and design requirements
Help maintain project records and drawing revisions
Purchasing & Procurement
Generate and track purchase orders
Solicit and compare supplier quotations
Follow up with vendors regarding material availability and delivery schedules
Maintain material tracking logs and procurement documentation
Production & Project Coordination
Assist in monitoring project schedules and production milestones
Coordinate communication between engineering, production, sales, and customers
Help manage project documentation from award through completion
Track critical action items and follow up to ensure deadlines are met
Quality Assurance & Documentation
Maintain manufacturing quality records and documentation
Review inspection reports and fabrication documentation for completeness
Support customer submittals and closeout packages
Assist with regulatory, ASME, UL, and customer documentation requirements
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
0-3 years of engineering or manufacturing experience
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environments
Experience with project coordination, purchasing, or quality systems
