We’re seeking an experienced Junior Engineer - Drawing and Release Packages, to ensure that all engineering documentation released to Manufacturing Engineering is complete, accurate, standardized, and production-ready. As a Junior Engineer, your role exists to protect the factory from incomplete drawings, unclear requirements, revision errors, and documentation gaps that cause shop-floor questions, rework, delays, and unnecessary Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
This is a discipline and quality role, not a design-creation seat. Your success will be measured by how cleanly work flows from Engineering into Manufacturing.
What You'll Do:
- Own Drawing & Release Packages
- Be fully responsible for the preparation of complete drawing turnover packages before release
- Ensure all required documents are present, correct, and aligned
- Create fabrication and assembly drawings
- BOMs
- Specifications and notes
- Revision history and release status
- Act as the final quality gate before Engineering releases work to Manufacturing Engineering
- Enforce internal drawing, BOM, and documentation standards
Ensure consistent formatting, naming conventions, and revision control
- Apply release checklists to every package—no exceptions
- Maintain drawing templates, standards, and best-practice examples
Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to resolve:
- Missing dimensions
- Ambiguous notes
- Conflicting BOMs or specs
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to clarify release expectations and feedback
- Serve as the communication bridge between design intent and manufacturing needs
- Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by updating drawings and documentation accurately
- Ensure revisions are clearly communicated and traceable
- Prevent uncontrolled or partial updates
Maintain clean revision history to avoid shop-floor confusion
- Identify recurring documentation issues and root causes
- Propose improvements to standards, checklists, and templates
- Help reduce engineering-driven ECOs caused by documentation gaps
