Job Title: Junior Engineer - Utility
Location: Rockford, IL and possible west region areas near Dekalb and Dixon and Freeport Job Type and Duration: 6 + month contract with possible extension
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am-3pm
Our utility client is seeking a Junior Engineer for their office in Rockford. This is an entry-level position in the field of engineering. Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific engineering discipline, but generally include:
Assisting senior engineers in designing, developing, and testing products, systems, or structures.
Conducting research and analysis to solve engineering problems.
Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
Assisting in the evaluation and selection of materials and equipment for projects.
Participating in project planning and management activities.
Performing calculations and simulations to support engineering designs.
Collaborating with other engineers and professionals on project teams.
Ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
Assisting in the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering technology and practices.
Qualified candidate should have:
Ability to identify and engineer how facilities will receive power, determine the appropriate source of service, and assess what is required to successfully provide electrical service to the customer.
Ability to quickly learn and navigate internal systems, process orders efficiently, and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure work progresses and does not become stalled.
Ability to manage a large volume of work, stay organized, maintain accurate status updates within company systems, and proactively communicate with customers regarding the progress of their projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor/Associates Degree in Engineering or related field
1 + year of experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems and applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AS8. Knowledge of Intellio. Experience using AutoCAD or similar engineering/design software.
