We are actively seeking a Junior Equipment Operator at Synergen Construction located in Bossier City, Louisiana. This position is responsible for gaining a general understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Perform basic operation of equipment
- Learn how to safely operate equipment
- Learn basic maintenance of equipment
- Learn proper equipment positioning during operations
- Provide ground support to Equipment Operators for grading, measuring, staking, etc.
- Study sloping, stripping, grading, backfilling, and clearing techniques
- Learn grade control techniques
- Learn technologies related to construction industry
- Learn to read and interpret construction plans
- Learn and understand different soil and material types
- Learn general survey concepts
- Learn to develop working relationships with customers, engineers, and inspectors
A qualified applicant must posses the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- General construction experience preferred
- High School Diploma preferred
- Current Driver’s License
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Excellent and clear communication to safely and efficiently complete job tasks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
- Work environment includes working outdoors in elements/weather
