G&L Ironworks is seeking a Junior Fabricator / Installer to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of welding or metal fabrication experience who is eager to continue developing their skills under the guidance of experienced industry professionals.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of structural steel, railings, egress systems, and miscellaneous metals projects throughout Long Island and New York City.
Responsibilities
Assist in the fabrication of railings, miscellaneous metals, and structural steel
MIG weld steel components
Cut, grind, fit, and prepare materials for fabrication
Read and interpret basic shop drawings
Assist installation crews in the field
Load and unload materials and deliveries
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow company safety procedures and quality standards
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 1 year of welding and/or metal fabrication experience
Basic MIG welding experience
Ability to safely use hand and power tools
Reliable transportation
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with structural steel or miscellaneous metals
Experience installing railings or architectural metals
Ability to read fabrication drawings
OSHA certification
Valid driver's license
