Junior Facilities & Production Maintenance Technician

Day in the life

You start your shift by checking the maintenance queue and coordinating priorities with the Director of Manufacturing Services and the Lead Maintenance Technician. You move through the facility—inside and out—assessing equipment health, completing routine repairs with hand and power tools, and documenting your work so production keeps moving. If a machine isn’t performing, you run diagnostics, trace the root cause of a mechanical issue, and restore reliability. When needed, you’ll jump in to support production activities and, on occasion, drive the company van for authorized business errands. Throughout the day, you communicate clearly and respectfully, model safe work practices, and ensure everything aligns with Customer, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll take on

• Support the APT facility—both inside and outside—as well as facility systems and production equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance programs, projects, and daily activities through the Director of Manufacturing Services & the Lead Maintenance Technician.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools to maximize reliability.
• Identify needs and recommend purchase of supplies required for upkeep.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with all personnel; model safe, technically sound work.
• Monitor overall equipment condition to support effective APT operations.
• Assist production when needed and drive the company van or support other authorized APT business activities as required.
• Follow APT policies and procedures at all times and complete work to meet or exceed Customer, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.

What you bring

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and a solid foundation in broad-based maintenance skills.
• Bonus points for training or certifications in areas such as PLCs, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Welding (skills fundamental to day-to-day operations are a plus).

Physical demands

• Ability to move throughout the shop floor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Safety gear

• Safety glasses required at all times on the shop floor; hard hat and steel-toe boots when appropriate.

Compensation

• Pay is based on experience.
