Client is seeking an experienced Junior GIS Technician to support GIS mapping, cartographic production, spatial data management, and geospatial analysis initiatives across City departments and business operations.
The selected consultant will be responsible for designing, composing, maintaining, and automating cartographic products that support mapping, planning, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, and public service initiatives. The Junior GIS Technician will work closely with GIS Analysts, GIS Developers, engineers, planners, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, reliable, and visually effective mapping products.
The ideal candidate will possess strong GIS and cartographic skills, experience working with ESRI ArcGIS and/or CAD technologies, and the ability to support geospatial data management, map production, and spatial analysis activities.
The City utilizes GIS technologies including ESRI ArcGIS, geodatabases, and CAD platforms such as MicroStation to support enterprise geospatial initiatives.
Experience
• 2+ years of GIS, Cartography, Mapping, or Geospatial Technology experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining cartographic products and maps.
• Experience supporting GIS data collection, editing, and maintenance activities.
• Experience utilizing GIS software for map production and spatial analysis.
• Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS products.
• Experience supporting GIS projects involving spatial and attribute data.
• Experience with CAD software such as MicroStation preferred.
• Experience supporting geospatial data quality assurance activities.
• Experience creating thematic maps, operational maps, and presentation-quality mapping products.
• Experience supporting enterprise GIS environments preferred.
