Junior High Counselor

Description/Responsibilities-

• Academic planning and counseling
• Work closely with elementary counselor and 6th grade teachers to prepare students for the transition

to Jr. High

• Work closely with the high school counselor to generate an academic pathway for students entering

high school

• Social and emotional counseling of students
• 504 coordination for grades 7-12
• Work collaboratively with teachers and cooperatively with administration
• Work collaboratively with outside resources
• Hold students to high academic and behavioral expectations and follow the student and staff

handbooks adopted by the school.

• Be competent in the use of technology and willing to learn how to use the schools chosen platforms.
• Effectively communicate with parents about students' grades, behavior and activities
