Tri-Township Jr-Sr High School is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Junior High Cross Country Coach to lead and develop our junior high cross country program. This position focuses on introducing student-athletes to distance running while building a strong foundation in teamwork discipline and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing young athletes and preparing them for future success at the high school level.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and lead practices that introduce proper running techniques endurance training and racing strategies.Teach fundamentals of distance running while encouraging participation and enjoyment of the sport.Promote teamwork accountability and positive sportsmanship among student-athletes.Prepare athletes for meets through conditioning pacing strategies and course awareness.Collaborate with athletic staff and administration to coordinate schedules transportation equipment and facilities.Monitor academic progress and serve as a mentor to student-athletes.Ensure safety during all training and competition activities by teaching proper technique and following health and safety protocols.Communicate effectively with athletes families and school personnel regarding expectations schedules and team progress.QualificationsPrevious coaching or playing experience in cross country or distance running preferred.Knowledge of cross country training fundamentals and race preparation.Strong organizational leadership and communication skills.Ability to work effectively with middle school students and encourage participation.RequirementsMust pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.Availability for practices meets and related events.CompensationStipend based on the teachers master contract.How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to Athletic Director Rick Snodgrass at ricksnodgrasstritownship.k12.in.us.Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.Tri-Township Schools is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse and inclusive coaching staff.
