Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned to state standards
• Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening skills
• Develop lesson plans that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities
• Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records
• Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff members
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities
• Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or administration

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement(s)
• Middle school teaching experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Experience integrating technology into instruction preferred
• Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and student success

Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits are based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.
