Junior High English Language Arts Teacher (6-8)

Position: Junior High English Language Arts Teacher (6-8)

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English/Language Arts instruction for grades 6-8, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Develop and implement curriculum that builds foundational literacy skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Design and facilitate lessons that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and project-based learning.

Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance student learning and engagement.

Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.

Build strong relationships with students to support engagement and achievement.

Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support all learners.

Communicate regularly and foster partnerships with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations and to support student

learning at home.

Implement strategies such as scaffolding, vocabulary development, language objectives, and visual supports to enhance comprehension.

Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning and provide targeted interventions.

Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery of standards.

Communicate with students, parents, and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior.

Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.

Participate in professional learning focused on student achievement and instructional practices.

Support school-wide initiatives and improvement goals.

Uphold all district policies, procedures, and state requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Required Qualications: Valid Indiana Teaching License Middle School English/Language Arts

Salary: Based upon experience and qualications
