Under the close supervision of the Senior Industrial Hygienist with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Enforcement Branch, the Junior Industrial Hygienist is a trainee level position. The Junior Industrial Hygienist is responsible for performing the less complex industrial hygiene work in connection with occupational health hazards in places of employment throughout the State.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting the less complex health inspections • Industrial hygiene monitoring of chemical, biological, and physical agents • Assisting Associate and Senior Industrial Hygienists in conducting complex surveys/sampling and inspections of occupational environments • Inspecting potential health hazards of specific substances or in specific industries or processes related to occupational health hazards
Requirements
Junior Industrial Hygienists are to perform all work in accordance with DIR-DOSH policies, DOSH Compliance Policy and Procedure Manual, Directives, and Memorandums.
