Abacus Solutions Group is hiring for a Junior Customer Service Analyst - VMI & Inventory for a manufacturing facility in Syracuse, NY. This is an immediate temp-to-hire opportunity!
The Junior Customer Service Analyst supports the frontline Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) by serving as the backend expert for client stock levels and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI). In this entry-level role, the analyst translates inventory data, demand forecasts, and usage patterns into actionable replenishment plans. While this position does not have direct client contact, the analyst acts as a critical liaison between Operations, Planning, and the CSR team—ensuring CSRs have accurate inventory insights, proactive delay warnings, and streamlined order fulfillment strategies to keep accounts running smoothly.
VMI & Inventory Analytics Support:
- Track and analyze client inventory levels, historical consumption, and safety stock requirements to support VMI accounts.
- Monitor stock thresholds and alert CSRs to impending stockouts or overstock risks before they impactthe client.
- Evaluate client demand trends and usage patterns to build data-backed replenishment recommendations for CSR review.
- Audit client stock sheets, progress reports, and inventory data for accuracy across internal systems.
CSR Liaison & Order Operations
- Serve as the internal point of contact for CSRs regarding inventory availability and order status.
- Prepare and process shop work orders and replenishment schedules, aligning with production planners to ensure specifications and timelines are met.
- Assist CSRs in verifying pricing integrity, line-item accuracy, and invoice details prior to customer billing.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, shipping variances, and return requests, providing CSRs with root-cause analysis and actionable resolution options.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Generate weekly and monthly inventory, order fill-rate, and VMI performance reports for internal customer service management.
- Participate in continuous improvement (Lean/ELS) projects aimed at streamlining inventory tracking and internal handoffs between CSRs and Supply Chain.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data manipulation) and familiarity with ERP/WMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends in raw data.
- Excellent verbal/written communication for clear internal team cross-collaboration.
- High detail orientation to maintain error-free inventory records.
- Strong problem-solving ability to resolve supply bottlenecks behind the scenes.
