Junior IT Field Technician

Location: New Jersey (Frequent U.S. Travel Required)
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site & Travel Required
Salary: $45,000+ (Based on Experience)

Job Overview

A growing IT services company is looking for a motivated Junior IT Field Technician to assist with customer deployments, hardware installations, and onsite technical support. This position provides an opportunity to develop hands-on IT skills while working alongside experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support and “remote hands” services to clients.
• Travel to customer locations throughout the U.S.
• Assist with network, Wi-Fi, and infrastructure site surveys.
• Support customer onboarding by installing and testing hardware.
• Replace and upgrade PCs, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, including photos, notes, and inventory.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Escalate complex troubleshooting issues to senior technical staff.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of IT support, PC hardware, and peripherals.
• Ability to understand and follow technical diagrams and documentation.
• Comfortable working in a team-based field environment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and work on ladders when necessary.

Preferred Skills

• MSP experience preferred but not required.
• Previous field service or deployment experience preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of IT systems and business technology.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
