About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring for a Junior Maintenance role for a manufacturing facility in Elk River, MN. In this role, you’ll support maintenance operations by learning equipment processes, performing preventive tasks, and assisting with repairs in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to grow your mechanical skills while contributing to safe, reliable plant operation. This position includes a 90-day training period with ongoing skill evaluation.
What You’ll Do as an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician:- Assist with preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs): diagnose, repair, and rebuild gearboxes, couplers, conveyors, pumps, belts, bearings, shafts, and related equipment
- Learn and follow Standard Repair Times (SRTs) to help prevent maintenance-related downtime
- Gain knowledge of plant machines, systems, and part components
- Support emergency breakdowns and maintenance calls
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards
- Assist with inventory management and proper storage of repair packaging and materials
- Install, adjust, and repair operating equipment to obtain best performance
- Overhaul and maintain equipment during both production and non-production times
- Troubleshoot and analyze mechanical issues on machines and systems
What You Need to Bring to the Entry-Level Maintenance Technician Role:- Must have at least 6 months experience working with power & hand tools, tape measures, and blueprints
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends, to meet production needs
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment processes
- Ability to lift required amounts per job standards
- Ability to follow safety rules and established procedures
- Reliable transportation to Elk River
- Ability to pass any required pre-employment screenings
