Description
SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI who will work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication.
Job Duties:
- Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
- Create 3D models of electromechanical systems and the associated 2D fabrication drawings of all hardware. Create technical data packages for systems and control configuration management of the drawings.
- Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems and custom assemblies to ensure sufficient deliverables on time.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Must be able to work in a team environment while completing assigned tasks with limited supervision.

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and zero (0) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development utilizing CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and how it is used in the development of manufacturing drawings.
