This is an entry-level technical role designed for early-career candidates interested in developing hands‑on experience in product safety testing within a regulated laboratory environment.The position supports product safety evaluation and certification activities under the supervision and direction of senior technical staff.If you have the following, you may be the person we are looking for:Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Applied Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experienceWillingness to learn product safety testing and certification processes in a regulated environmentBasic understanding of electrical and mechanical principlesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and safety instructionsAnalytical and problem‑solving skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a technical team under supervisionProfessional verbal and written communication skillsA structured, methodical approach to hands‑on technical workIf hired, what will you be doing at LabTest?Key duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Support the setup and execution of electrical and mechanical product safety tests under supervision, in accordance with approved test methods and laboratory proceduresAssist with testing to nationally and internationally recognized safety standards (including CSA, UL, ANSI, IEC, ISO, and EN) by following approved procedures and work instructionsHelp execute test plans, verify test conditions, and monitor test activities during executionAccurately record test data, measurements, and observations in approved datasheets, logs, and electronic systemsIdentify and promptly flag abnormal test results, deviations, or equipment issues for review by senior technical staffAssist with organizing, assembling, and verifying test setups, fixtures, jigs, and sample configurationsSafely connect and disconnect test samples in accordance with laboratory electrical and mechanical safety requirementsOperate test equipment only after appropriate training and formal authorizationAssist in preparing draft test reports and Technical Files for internal reviewSupport witnessed testing activities at client or third‑party facilities while maintaining professionalism and confidentialityPerform general administrative, organizational, and housekeeping tasks related to testing projectsFollow all laboratory policies, procedures, quality requirements, and safety rulesThis is a junior, non‑signatory role.
