We are looking for a Junior Architect to support residential and commercial energy, tenant improvement, and remodel projects within a fast-paced design-build energy contractor environment.
This role works closely with project leadership, field teams, and permitting departments to assist with drafting, plan development, permit coordination, and project execution across active construction and energy projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both office and project-driven environments. This position is important to helping projects move efficiently through design, permitting, and construction while supporting the company’s growing project backlog.
Responsibilities
- Assist with architectural drawings, layouts, and construction documents for residential and commercial projects
- Support tenant improvement, remodel, solar, and energy-related project design efforts
- Prepare permit sets and assist with permit submissions across local jurisdictions
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements alongside project managers and leadership
- Coordinate revisions and drawing updates throughout active project phases
- Interface with internal teams, consultants, and field personnel to support project execution
- Assist with site measurements, existing condition documentation, and project coordination tasks
- Maintain organized project documentation, drawing files, and design records
- Support project timelines by helping resolve design and permitting issues quickly and accurately
Requirements
- 1–4 years of experience in architecture, drafting, design, or related construction environments
- Experience with tenant improvement, remodel, residential, or commercial construction projects preferred
- Solar, energy, or MEP-related project exposure is a plus but not required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar drafting/design software
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment with multiple active projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Degree in Architecture is preferred but not required for candidates with relevant project experience
