Project Overview
The Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure asset refresh and other infrastructure related projects. This role focuses on organizing project activities, assisting with scheduling, coordinating with technical teams, and ensuring smooth execution of hardware and infrastructure refresh cycles. Working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders, this position helps maintain project momentum, track progress, and support the delivery of reliable infrastructure updates. The ideal candidate will have foundational IT project management experience and feel comfortable working with infrastructure teams in a fast-paced environment.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and coordinating infrastructure asset refresh projects, ensuring activities are completed on schedule and within defined scope.
- Support the development of project plans, schedules, and task lists; help track progress and follow up on outstanding items with team members and vendors.
- Work with technical teams to confirm project requirements, inventory needs, and asset availability.
- Help identify and track risks, issues, and dependencies and escalate them when appropriate.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders by providing routine project updates and status reports.
- Coordinate logistics for refresh activities, including vendor scheduling, equipment delivery, and access requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure the asset refresh process is executed efficiently and according to guidelines.
- Support adherence to IT governance processes by ensuring required documentation and checkpoints are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including documentation updates, validation of completed work, and handoff to operational teams.
Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in IT project coordination or project management, preferably supporting infrastructure or hardware related initiatives.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure technologies such as networks, servers, storage, end-user devices, and IT hardware lifecycle processes.
- Experience assisting with or coordinating asset refresh, deployment, or rollout projects is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, track details, and support project documentation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Good problem-solving abilities and comfort escalating issues that require further expertise or decision-making.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Excel, SharePoint).
- Knowledge of project phases and standard project documentation such as plans, schedules, risks, issues, and status reporting.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, adapt to shifting priorities, and support continuous improvements in the asset refresh process.
- Understanding of IT lifecycle processes such as SDLC or infrastructure deployment cycles is a plus.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred. Project management certification (e.g., CAPM or PMP) is a plus but not required. Relevant infrastructure or IT operations certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA Network+, Cisco, AWS) are beneficial but optional.
