Junior Scientist (Personal Care) to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $25/hr - $26/hr
Position Overview: The Junior Scientist (Personal Care) will support the development of new personal care products and improvement of existing formulations. This individual will be responsible for product formulation, raw material evaluation, and stability testing. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities of the Junior Scientist (Personal Care):- Develop new formulations and reformulate existing personal care products under the guidance of senior scientists and management.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, formulation documentation, and product development databases.
- Conduct stability testing, including monitoring and evaluating texture, odor, pH, viscosity, appearance, and other key product attributes.
- Analyze, document, and communicate test results and recommendations to project teams.
- Prepare, label, and submit product samples in accordance with established procedures.
- Support project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful product launches.
- Research and evaluate new raw materials, ingredients, and technologies for future product innovations.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Marketing teams to support project objectives.
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges and assist in identifying effective solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills for the Junior Scientist (Personal Care):- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in personal care, cosmetic, beauty, or consumer product formulation.
- Experience conducting laboratory testing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Proficiency in documenting and analyzing product development data.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Junior Scientist (Personal Care):- Experience working with skincare, body care, cosmetics, or related personal care products.
- Knowledge of current industry trends, ingredients, and formulation technologies.
- Exposure to product commercialization and scale-up activities.
- Experience supporting innovation and new product development initiatives.
- Familiarity with stability testing protocols and product performance evaluation.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline.
