This position is responsible for analyzing user requirements, designing and coding software programs or systems, testing and debugging software solutions, and documenting this work. The Junior Software Developer assists with code reviews and participates in providing input for technology standards, best practices, and software development lifecycle processes. This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Development and Architecture.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport software development of new projectsParticipate in proof-of-concepts with the Senior Director, Development and Architecture of emerging technologies that should be integrated and/or introduced to ensure IT has the capabilities needed to respond to future business requirementsAdhere to best practices regarding technology standards, change management, release management, application lifecycles, and enterprise architectureSupport analyzing software specifications and system requirements to design scalable and functional applicationsWith guidance from the Senior Director, develop software programs or systems using various programming languages and technologiesTest and debug software solutions using various tools and methodsDocument software programs with flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentationCollaborate with other software engineers, project managers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to ensure qualityParticipate in the entire software development life cycle, from planning to deploymentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience andKnowledge or experience with the following databases: Azure SQL, SQL Server, CosmosDB, MySQL, PostgreSQLKnowledge or experience with the following programming languages: .NET, python andExperience with web services and APIs (RESTful, SOAP, Flask, etc.) andKnowledge of Azure cloud platform technologies like App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Key Vaults, Azure AI Services, Azure Storage, Azure Container Services andKnowledge or experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) andExperience with CI/CD pipeline with GitHub ActionsFamiliar with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, React, etc.)Familiar with data ETL and reporting tools (Microsoft SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Power BI)Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsStrong organization, prioritization, and analytical skillsInitiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with AI technologies such as OpenAI services (Chat GPT integration)The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
