KBR is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to be a part of the team that supports the Department of the Air Force advanced air platform testing and rapid development.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and debug high‑quality software applications with a primary focus on C++.
Build and maintain modeling and simulation software, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to industry best practices.
Collaborate on software architecture and design, contributing to the planning and implementation of new features and system enhancements.
Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code, following established coding standards and development processes.
Work closely with cross-functional team members in a fast‑paced, agile environment to deliver high‑value capabilities.
Participate in peer code reviews, offering constructive feedback and supporting continuous improvement across the engineering team.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure stable and reliable system performance.
Deploy, configure, and maintain applications in a containerized environment.
Support the creation and execution of test plans, ensuring thorough validation of software functionality and performance.
Stay current with evolving tools, technologies, and best practices in modern software development.
Work Environment:
Location: On-site
Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
Working Hours: Standard/Flexible (3 days in office)
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
1 to 3 years of programming experience; preferably with C++
Active DoD Secret clearance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired:
Active Top Secret clearance
Excellent interpersonal and intrateam communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
MBSE experience
Flight Simulation and/or Aerospace Engineering background
