Junior Systems Administrator  (Microsoft Intune)

Position Type: Onsite
Location: 5757 Decatur Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46241
Program: FTC
Clearance: Public Trust (Candidates may begin prior to adjudication; must be eligible to obtain Public Trust)
Duration: 6 Months (07/20/2026 – 01/19/2027) with potential for conversion to Leidos FTE

Role Summary

Leidos is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support a secure, enterprise-scale Federal Trade Commission (FTC) environment. This role requires an experienced systems administrator with strong hands-on Microsoft Intune expertise who can independently manage endpoint administration, desktop support, security compliance, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of owning projects from inception through resolution while supporting mission-critical IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Intune-managed environments, including:
    • Device configuration
    • Application deployment
    • Compliance policies
    • Security policies
    • Password controls
    • Device media controls
    • Security hardening
  • Implement and maintain Intune policies and endpoint security configurations.
  • Manage URL filtering and enterprise network access controls.
  • Troubleshoot Windows desktop operating systems, hardware, peripherals, and user issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues including DNS, VPN, firewall rules, IP addressing, port restrictions, subnetting, and URL filtering.
  • Support Azure Entra and Microsoft Intune environments while maintaining compliance with CIS Benchmarks, STIGs, and enterprise security policies.
  • Administer enterprise endpoint management, asset management, and VoIP operations.
  • Resolve endpoint security, compliance, and audit readiness issues.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 tools to manage work and documentation.
  • Collaborate with desktop support, security, networking, and infrastructure teams while independently driving assigned projects.
  • Support FTC hosted applications, contact center operations, website hosting, and data analytics initiatives.
  • Participate in onsite support activities and mandatory team meetings.

Required Technical Skills

  • Hands-on Microsoft Intune administration in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience implementing Intune policies, password controls, device media controls, and security hardening.
  • Experience managing application deployment and enterprise endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience managing URL filters.
  • Experience administering network access controls using IP, Port, and URL-based filtering.
  • Windows enterprise desktop administration and troubleshooting.
  • Azure Entra administration and endpoint management.
  • Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks, STIGs, and enterprise security compliance.
  • Microsoft 365 administration and productivity tools.
  • Desktop support, endpoint management, asset management, and VoIP support.
  • Strong troubleshooting across desktop, networking, endpoint management, and security domains.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • IP addressing, subnetting, and routing.
  • Firewall management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Fast learner with strong research skills.
  • Experience supporting federally regulated environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field with 3+ years of practical experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree (1:1).
  • Practical experience managing enterprise desktops in Microsoft Intune environments.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering IP, Port, or URL-based network access controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve issues and drive projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to self-manage work using Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Strong ownership mentality and self-starter mindset.
  • Must be located near Indianapolis, IN and willing to work onsite.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
