Junior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

Start your systems engineering career at the heart of national security. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you'll support the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies — working alongside experienced engineers across requirements, solutions design, integration, and test & evaluation to help deliver timely, accurate GEOINT.

What You'll Do

• Support Mid-level engineers and government stakeholders across requirements engineering, solutions design, integration, and test & evaluation
• Assist with requirements traceability and architecture analysis, helping identify ways to improve systems, workflows, and cloud capabilities
• Contribute to solutions design based on requirements analysis and emerging technology
• Help translate mission and customer needs into systems and capability requirements
• Support requirements allocation across architecture components and programs
• Assist with systems integration activities
• Contribute to Analyses of Alternatives, Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments
• Support strategic technical planning, risk management, and interface design

Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related STEM field (or equivalent experience: +4 years without a degree, +2 years with a non-STEM degree)
• 0–6 years of systems engineering experience in government or industry
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI security clearance pass a polygraph 
• Willingness to work at a customer facility

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and languages
• Familiarity with software development frameworks
• Exposure to geospatial intelligence work
• NGA, NSG/ASG, IC, or DoD program experience

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
