The Junior Varsity Football Coach is responsible for assisting in the development of student-athletes within the Weyauwega-Fremont Football Program. The coach will instruct players in football fundamentals, techniques, strategy, sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork while supporting the overall vision and philosophy of the football program. The JV Coach serves as a vital link in preparing student-athletes for success at the varsity level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct practices that emphasize skill development, football fundamentals, player safety, and team concepts.
  • Teach proper techniques and ensure adherence to safety protocols and equipment standards.
  • Develop athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally through positive coaching and mentorship.
  • Support and implement the philosophy, systems, and expectations established by the Head Football Coach.
  • Prepare players for advancement within the football program by teaching offensive, defensive, and special teams concepts consistent with the varsity program.
  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, accountability, and respect among student-athletes.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and other team functions.
  • Assist with game preparation, film review, scouting reports, and equipment management as assigned.
  • Monitor athlete academic progress and encourage academic excellence.
  • Maintain positive communication with athletes, parents, school staff, and administration.
  • Assist with inventory, maintenance, and care of football equipment and facilities.
  • Attend coaches'' meetings, professional development opportunities, and athletic department trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with all district policies, conference regulations, and WIAA rules and regulations.
  • Support offseason strength and conditioning opportunities as directed by the Head Football Coach.
