Junior Website Developer

Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking a Junior Website Developer to perform day-to-day management and development of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) digital presence. The role focuses on maintaining the NIC website while making content changes as directed by agency staff.

The position is responsible for maintaining a high-quality, accessible, and user-focused web experience while driving awareness and usage of training and information resources.

Position Details

• Position Type: Full-Time, Remote

• Hourly Rate: $30.23/hour

• Health & Welfare (H&W): $4.57/hour in addition to the base rate

• MUST BE A US CITIZEN

Key Responsibilities

Drupal Content Management and Development

• Manage daily website content updates using Drupal CMS.

• Collaborate with other developers to implement theming and configuration changes.

• Ensure site stability, functionality, and adherence to best practices.

Analytics and Performance Optimization

• Monitor website performance using tools such as Google Analytics and SiteImprove.

• Apply SEO best practices to increase visibility and discoverability of content.

• Use data insights to refine content strategy and improve user experience.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma.

• 1-3 years of experience in website content management, website development, or a related field (internships and academic experience welcome).

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Experience using Drupal or another enterprise CMS for content updates (Drupal experience preferred).

• Moderate programming skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience with Microsoft Office/Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and similar software.

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.

• Interest in public sector communications and mission-driven work.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training and experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including:

• S3

• EC2

• CloudFront

• Cloud Architecture

• Infrastructure as Code

• Understanding of accessibility standards (Section 508) or willingness to learn.

• Basic analytics experience using:

• Google Analytics

• GovDelivery Email Reports

• Email performance metrics

• Social media insights

• Experience supporting government clients or working in regulated environments.

• Experience using Linux command-line tools and commands.
