Juvenile Probation Officer
Location: Juvenile Court Status: Permanent Full-time
Hours: 40 hrs. per week (schedule varies)
Pay: $51-56k DOE
Position Overview
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Exercise close supervision and monitoring of low to high-risk youth; work flexible schedule that may include evening hours; maintain a chronological record of all direct and indirect contacts; develop reports on personal, social, educational, financial, vocational, health and/or prior criminal history of probationers; write and present reports to court personnel including recommendations, amendments to probation conditions and violations of probation; monitor the payment of restitution, fines, and court costs; conduct on-site drug testing; and communicate with schools, community agencies and parents on the Courts behalf.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a related field; professional level experience in related field of work; knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations of the juvenile justice system; valid driver's license; physically able to perform all job-related responsibilities.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants must be US citizens or eligible to work without restriction in the United States and at least 18 years of age. This position is subject to a background check and drug screen. Employees are considered "at will" employees.
