JV Boys Basketball Coach

Position Overview: Wilmot Union High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic JV Boys Basketball Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the Basketball program, focusing on player development, team strategy, and fostering a positive and competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with practice planning and execution, ensuring that all drills and activities are effective and engaging.
• Primary responsibilities will be focused on the JV1/JV2 team.
• Provide individual and group instruction to enhance players'' skills.
• Support the Head Coach in developing game strategies and making in-game decisions.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Help manage equipment, uniforms, and other team logistics.
• Attend all practices, games, and team meetings, providing consistent support and guidance to the players.
• Assist with communication to players, parents, and school administration regarding team schedules, events, and expectations.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices, games, and team activities.

Qualifications:

• CPR/AED Certified preferred.
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or youth level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, other coaching staff, and school administration.
• Commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
• Must pass a background check, drug-screen and physical, and meet all school district coaching requirements.
