Parkrose High School Deadline: Until Filled Duration: September - November Salary: Level D - $5489 (prorated over 3-month period)

Qualifications:

• Successful coaching experience in the sport.
• Keep current with new knowledge and innovative ideas and techniques in the sport.
• Responsible for promoting designated sport throughout the School District and community in a positive and responsible manner.
• OSAA and District Eligibility requirements met.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide a positive learning environment and be a positive role model for the athletes.
• Teach the skills necessary for successful performance in the sport.
• Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets and events.
• Supervisor Assistant Coaches.
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies.
• Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport, including coaches' meetings.
• Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athlete's greatest potential.
• Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner.

• • Experience with high school students and the sport/activity.
  • Verification of identity and prior employment
  • The coach must hold or be able to acquire:
  • • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance by the State Department of Education.
    • Online district required trainings through online Safe Schools Program
    • Current First Aid and CPR/AED card
    • Other required certification: ASEP/NFHS Coaching, OSAA Concussion, OSAA Steroid & OSAA Heat Prevention

Fingerprinting - Fieldprint - Once, upon being hired - $12.50

Background check based on completed fingerprints - Once, upon being hired - $75**

ASEP/NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching - Once, upon being hired - $50

Concussion Recognition and Management - Annually - $0

NFHS Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention - Every other year - $0

Anabolic Steroids and Performance-Enhancing Sub. - Every 4 years - $0

Spirit Safety Clinic (Cheer & Dance/Drill Coaches Only) - Annually - $0

First Aid/CPR/AED - Every 2 years - $35

SafeSchools – District required trainings - Annually - $0

*Requirements for new coaches (paid and volunteer). "Coaches" includes all sports sanctioned by OSAA, plus Cheerleading and Dance/Drill
