POSITION: K-12 Art Teacher

LOCATION: Athens Area Schools

REPORTS TO: Building Principals

SALARY: Per Athens Education Association Master Agreement

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 2026

Athens Area Schools is seeking a passionate and dynamic K-12 Art Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. This position could be shared between two buildings, offering a rewarding opportunity to inspire and engage students across multiple grade levels with a high-quality music education program.

Minimum Qualications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with K-12 endorsement.
• Ability to travel between two school buildings within the district.

Preferred Qualifications

• Michigan Art Education Certification (LQ, LZ or OX endorsement).
• Prior experience teaching art in a school setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging art instruction to K-12 students aligned with state and district standards.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect the diverse talents and interests of students.
• Assess and document student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student success and school-wide events.
• Travel between assigned school buildings as part of the weekly schedule
