Job Summary Job Summary Jefferson Elementary School District is a one room rural school in picturesque south San Benito County. Inland from Monterey, 35 miles south of Hollister, and adjacent to Pinnacles National Monument, the school serves a diverse K-8 student population, average enrollment 5-8 students. Current enrollment is 6 students. Staff include a full-time certificated teacher, a full time instructional aide, and a custodian. Most area residents own or work on local ranches or are employed by Pinnacles National Monument. The school enjoys active parent and community support. In a time of fiscal instability, crowded classrooms, and increasingly limited instructional programs, Jefferson offers a small multi-age environment with financial stability, ideally suited for a teacher with vision and creativity, a talent for multi-age teaching, and eager for a challenge. This is not a position for a beginning teacher, but rather a teacher with an established record of instructional leadership, knowledge of K-8 standards across the curriculum, ability to differentiate instruction, and a desire to develop administrative skills.
