About the Role:
Global Protection & Investigations in Sacramento, CA is looking for a motivated and dedicated K-9 Officer Trainee / Working K-9 Handler Apprentice to join our elite security team. Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced K-9 handlers in daily patrol, detection, and protection operations
• Learn proper K-9 handling techniques, obedience commands, and deployment protocols
• Conduct security sweeps, access control, and perimeter checks alongside a working K-9
• Maintain the health, grooming, feeding, and overall welfare of assigned K-9 partner
• Complete training logs, incident reports, and documentation related to K-9 activities
• Respond to security threats, suspicious activity, and emergencies under handler supervision
• Participate in ongoing K-9 training exercises, drills, and certification programs

Requirements:

• Strong interest in K-9 security operations, law enforcement, or animal handling
• Must be able to obtain or currently hold a valid California Guard Card (BSIS)
• Physical fitness to keep pace with K-9 patrol duties and demanding field environments
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor with strong situational awareness
• Ability to follow instructions, take direction, and work within a structured team environment
• No fear of or allergies to dogs; genuine comfort and confidence around working animals
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus but not required
