K5 Paraprofessional I/Aide

The School District of Whitefish Bay is looking for an exceptional K5 Paraprofessional I/Aide (5.00 hours/day) to help support academic and social emotional growth in a K5 classroom. We are seeking a team member who is able to support the independence and inclusion of all children. Working under the direction of teachers, the ideal candidate is flexible, shows great initiative, has a sense of humor, and uses a positive frame to nurture and support student growth and development. Potential candidates should have a love for children, with an appreciation of the joys and challenges that come with working with children at this age.

A successful candidate will implement strategies and maintain established routines and procedures, while practicing with competence, integrity, and sound judgment, even in the absence of close supervision. A high degree of confidentiality is required. Duties include recess supervision, and attending art, music, physical education, and library classes with students.

The work schedule for this position largely corresponds to the student calendar and additional days for professional learning before the beginning of the school year.
