    Role Description The Kennel Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for the daily care of animals, including feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning kennels and runs, and maintaining a sanitary, safe environment. The Kennel Technician monitors animal behavior and health, promptly reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Additional responsibilities include assisting with bathing and basic grooming, helping with restraint during examinations as directed, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in common areas. The role also involves interacting professionally with clients, following hospital protocols, and supporting the veterinary team as needed to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to safely handle, lift, and restrain animals of various sizes, with attention to animal welfare and safety.
    • \n
    • Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene, including experience or comfort with routine cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing animal care areas.
    • \n
    • Basic knowledge of animal behavior, comfort reading and following care instructions, and willingness to learn veterinary hospital procedures.
    • \n
    • Effective communication skills, reliability, and a cooperative attitude when working with veterinary staff and clients.
    • \n
    • Capacity to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • \n
    • Previous experience in animal care, shelter, boarding, or veterinary settings is preferred but not required.
    • \n
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or coursework in animal care is a plus.
    • \n
    • Availability to work a full-time schedule, including rotating weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
