While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. The employee may frequently handle animals of various sizes, operate cleaning equipment, and perform repetitive motions. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in an animal shelter environment. Employees are regularly exposed to animals, animal waste, cleaning chemicals, odors, allergens, and loud noises. The noise level is frequently high due to animal activity. Employees may be exposed to potentially unpredictable animal behavior and must follow established safety procedures at all times. The facility is smoke-free.
