Job Summary

The Camp Counselor ( kennel Attendant ) is responsible for the daily care, feeding, and enrichment of our canine guests, as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role requires managing large groups of dogs in play yards, monitoring behavior, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dog Handling & Supervision: Safely manage and monitor large groups of dogs of various breeds and sizes in open-play webcams/yards.

  • Daily Care: Feed dogs according to specific owner instructions and administer medications accurately.

  • Health & Safety: Monitor dogs for any signs of illness, stress, or injury, and report concerns immediately to the management team.

  • Sanitation: Deep-clean and sanitize cabins, play yards, play equipment, and common areas according to strict Camp Bow Wow standards.

  • Customer Service: Assist with checking dogs in and out, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for pet parents.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working in a kennel, dog daycare, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter (Required).

  • Certification:First Aid & CPR certification for dogs is required within 90 days of hire (certification resources will be provided).

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of dog body language, pack behavior, and safe handling techniques.

  • Availability:This is a permanent full-time position requiring 35+ hours weekly. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (as dogs need care 365 days a year).

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in both indoor and outdoor environments regardless of weather conditions.

Compensation: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
