Assistant Principal II - Elementary
Job Goal: To assist the principal in promoting the educational well-being of each student in the school.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky Elementary Teaching and Principal Certificate.
- Three years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience as department chairman or other administrative experience desired.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist the principal in daily administration of the school.
- Assume responsibility as chief administrator for the school in absence of the principal.
- Provide supervision of school events and extra-curricular activities.
- Assist the principal with the general supervision of Youth Enrichment Program.
- Assist the principal and faculty in developing and implementing the school improvement plan and the state required program reviews.
- Serve as coordinator for various school/district support services as assigned.
- Perform all duties of SBARC designee for the school; unless, the Principal has designated another SBARC representative within the school, and is responsible for being familiar with law and board policy and procedure pertaining to special education students.
- Serve as the Building Assessment Coordinator for state and district level assessments (including MAP, DRA, Brigance and CogAT administration.
- Assist the principal in enforcing the Student Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline from Board Policy and school rules for student conduct.
- Meet with parents, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing education and related activities and objectives.
- Assist principal in developing and supervising the implementation of school-wide professional development plan and subsequent activities.
- Serve as a coach to teachers with the improvement of instructional practice.
- Assist principal with performance evaluation responsibilities, including data collection of staff.
- Perform necessary medical-related services for students who have been determined by their physician to need such services, upon written delegation of the responsibilities and proper training by the District Nurse.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal may assign.
