Job Purpose

The purpose of the Key Account Manager is to create and manage strategies, objectives, and action steps to develop national accounts across targeted food service channel segments. Deliver stated revenue and profitability goals via account management and new business development. The territory ranges from Chicago to Las Vegas with an expectation of up to 75% travel.

Essential Functions

• Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans which include the targeting of national accounts and tracking of progress via CRM.
• Set and achieve sales goals.
• Take the lead in direct calls on assigned national accounts. Develop and manage relationships with account R&D teams, culinary, marketing, purchasing and supply chain.
• Manage the business relationship of existing national account customers. Lead the efforts to become a critical supplier for new products, new uses for current products, i.e. expand our position and value to assigned customers.
• Develop and execute against annual customer plans.
• Conduct business reviews with accounts and develop opportunities to penetrate account.
• Collaborate with Rise Baking planning team to set monthly forecast by account.
• Secure new business with assigned national account targets, with an emphasis on products and/or product development within core capabilities. Develop, plan, and implement strategic selling plans, qualify customer targets, achieve sales objectives including volume, profit and T&E.
• Actively participate in industry trade and customer shows
• Monitor current trends and communicate competitive activities in the marketplace.
• Hold regular monthly meetings with internal stakeholders regarding key accounts.
• Investigate and resolve queries and issues raised by national accounts.
• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• BA/BS degree
• 10+ years of relevant National Account Sales experience
• Relevant bakery industry experience strongly preferred but not required.
• Project management and an accounting/math aptitude strongly desired.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong written skills, creativity, and adaptability to changing situations.
• Ability to understand the customer's needs and develop appropriate solutions through leveraging the Rise Baking team.
• Ability to integrate and analyze data. Strong negotiations skills a must along with the ability to stand firm when necessary.
• Experience and ability to call on the highest-level executives required.
• Should be able to identify best methods to bring products successfully to market.
• Prior experience selling to and managing national accounts, relationships or past sales contact with key customers preferred.

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $124,000 to $155,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
