Key Account Manager, Tesla / Mechatronics Auburn Hills, MI (on-site)$130,000 to $140,000 base plus bonus

I'm recruiting for a global Tier 1 supplier that needs a Key Account Manager to take over their Tesla business in mechatronics.

This is one of their most important accounts in North America. The person in this seat is the commercial face of the supplier to Tesla, and everything from quoting new work to settling claims runs through them.

What you'd be doing

• Running the account day to day: pricing, contracts, engineering changes and claims
• Leading RFQs and building quotes that win work without giving away margin
• Negotiating price and terms against internal cost targets
• Working with engineering, program management, quality and the plant to get launches to SOP and keep production running
• Owning the account forecast and feeding into annual and long-range plans
• Finding and chasing new business inside Tesla

Who I'm looking for

You've managed a major OEM account and you know what it takes to hold margin when the customer is pushing hard.

Ideally you've worked directly with Tesla. If not, I'm keen to hear from you if you've sold mechatronics or electromechanical products to another OEM.

You're comfortable with cost breakdowns and contract negotiations, you can hold your own with OEM purchasing and engineering, and you don't need someone checking in on you to get things moving.

The package

Base of $130,000 to $140,000 depending on experience, plus a performance bonus. The role is on-site in Auburn Hills.
