Kid Museum-Community Engagement and Partnership Development

The Community Engagement & Retention VISTA will build KID Museum's organizational capacity by developing sustainable systems that expand access to STEM learning opportunities for historically underserved youth and families throughout Montgomery County and the greater Washington, DC region. The VISTA will design and implement a community partnership strategy by cultivating relationships with schools, libraries, housing communities, faith-based organizations, and youth-serving nonprofits. They will develop systems to track family engagement and participation, conduct stakeholder interviews and family listening sessions to identify barriers to participation, and create multilingual outreach materials and family engagement resources. The VISTA will establish volunteer and community ambassador recruitment and stewardship systems, create dashboards and reporting tools that measure participation and retention, and develop community engagement toolkits.
