Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The Viking Kids Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, operation and support of all summer youth programs ensuring their effective and cohesive operation of all daily programming; the training, support and supervision of all staff; camper wellness and the administering of first aid; and various administrative duties, which may include ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and verifying enrollment rosters.
The Program Coordinator will develop and foster meaningful relationships with campers, while collaborating with camp instructors to ensure a cohesive environment for all involved.
This position is a temporary, part-time position. Hours are Monday - Friday and vary between the hours of 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. for the summer months only.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree.
Three (3) years of relevant experience to include program coordination in education, training, student services, or other appropriate area.
Must possess or immediately obtain certification in First Aid and CPR.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous work experience with youth in a camp environment.
Formal training in child development, elementary education, early childhood, recreation, or similar fields.

Supervise and actively participate with camp Instructors and campers in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, educational sessions and more. Ensures camp safety and security, enforces all safety and risk management policies. Resolve disciplinary problems appropriately, complete incident reports as needed. Maintain good relationships with parents of campers.

Assist with age-appropriate lessons, projects and activities. Engage campers. Assist instructors with teaching and educational sessions. Responsible for activity and educational session area set-up and clean-up. Educate campers regarding emergency procedures and ensure procedures are followed when necessary, and all campers are accounted for.

Work with the food service provider in planning, preparing and serving meals and snacks. Help maintain the lunch room in a clean and sanitary condition. Assist in supervising monitors to clean up after meals. Travel between campuses and for purchasing of camp supplies required.

Verify enrollment rosters. Assist with registration, sign-in and sign-out as needed. Complete necessary reports. Assist with tasks as requested by program manager. .
