Kids Club Coordinator

Part-time: 25 hours per week (includes Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and occasional special events)

 

Wheaton Bible Church (WBC) is a dynamic, thriving multiethnic church community seeking to live out our mission to Love God, Love One Another, Love our Neighbors, and Love the Nations in the Chicago suburbs and globally with our 90+ sent missionaries and indigenous partners. We currently hold worship services in both English and Spanish while providing space, care, and leadership coaching for 5 additional ethnic language fellowship groups. Additionally, we serve our local community through West Chicago’s largest social service provider Puente de Pueblo by providing case management services for families, adult literacy programming, and after-school programming for children and youth. 

The Kids Club Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for our multi-ethnic midweek ministry serving children in grades K–5. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of Kids Club programming, the recruitment, development, and support of ministry partners, and collaboration in elementary and family ministry events throughout the year. The Coordinator also works to build strong partnerships with parents, equipping and encouraging them as they disciple their children. The Kids Club Coordinator helps advance the Purpose, Mission, and Values of Wheaton Bible Church by contributing to our vision of seeing people Love God, Love One Another, Love Our Neighbors, and Love the Nations.

Programming and Curriculum (40%)
Oversee and coordinate programming and curriculum for Wednesday evening Kids Club serving children in grades K–5. Collaborate with the Kids Life Team to support and strengthen Sunday morning ministry, and develop and implement discipleship events, resources, and experiences that align with and advance the values and goals of Kids Life Ministry.

Leadership Development (25%)
Develop and strengthen core teams of servant leaders who help lead and support Kids Club. Recruit, equip, disciple, and care for current and future leaders to foster a healthy and growing ministry.
Recruit – Develop and implement effective strategies, opportunities, and processes for recruiting new leaders.
Train – Plan and facilitate regular training, equipping, and discipleship opportunities that help leaders grow in their ministry skills and spiritual maturity.
Care – Build meaningful relationships with leaders, provide encouragement and support, recognize their contributions, and promote a healthy leadership culture that supports the growth of the ministry.

Parent Engagement (20%)
Partner with, encourage, and pray for parents as they disciple their children. Develop opportunities and resources that equip parents to discuss, teach, and reinforce biblical truths at home. Maintain clear and consistent communication to keep parents informed and engaged in Kids Club, while building relational connections that make the ministry accessible and supportive to families.

Kids Life Ministry Development (10%)
Contribute to the development and overall effectiveness of Kids Life Ministry through active participation in Kids Life team meetings and collaboration on cross-departmental initiatives. Support efforts that strengthen alignment, collaboration, and ministry effectiveness across Kids Life.

General Church Staff Involvement (5%)
Participate as a member of the WBC staff team and contribute to the broader ministry of the church. Participate in staff development and prayer, as well as church-wide ministry initiatives and events, including Christmas and Easter services and programs, CareFest, and Missions Fest. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding member information, pastoral care, counseling, and correspondence. Be available to assist with general church responsibilities and ministry initiatives as needed and contribute to the overall effectiveness of WBC’s ministry.

Requirements
Experience leading a high energy children’s ministry, preferably within a larger church context.
Degree in Children’s Ministry, Christian Ministry, Education, or a related field, or equivalent ministry experience.
Spanish fluency is a preferred.
