Job Duties:
The Human Resources / Payroll position will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records, manage attendance records including time off requests, run benefit reports and enter employee deductions. You will be assisting with employee evaluations (Spanish speaking), new hire orientation (Spanish speaking), employee recognition programs and initiatives. Provides exceptional communication and service to employees. Sets the example of an engaged employee, supports employee engagement, and enforces company policies and practices. Duties/Responsibilities: · Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, w4 and other information. · Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions. · Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge. · Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. · Plans and hosts employee celebration events. Coordinates recognition gifts for employees. · Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. · Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. · Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations and performance. · Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Makes recommendations to employee leave policies. · Assist with unemployment claims. · Maintain reports and enters (on the payroll side) benefits / evaluations. · Completes annual reporting on employee benefits. · Assist with the completion of employment verification requests. · Conduct New Hire Orientation for all Spanish speaking new hires. · Enter/Maintain Certified Payroll. · Participates in audits of benefits, personnel files or other HR programs and recommends corrective action. · Participates in developing Human Resource department goals, objectives, and systems. · Performs other duties as assigned.
