The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of elementary school pedagogy
- Knowledge of school-wide curriculum materials preferred: Bridges Math, Reader's Workshop, Heggerty, Fundations, and Social Thinking
- Planning and assessment of instruction, including formal assessment instruments used by classroom teachers
- Planning and delivering effective instruction including small group and whole class instruction
- Promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement with an emphasis on the MTSS model
- Effective communication with students, families, and district employees
- Promoting equity and appreciation of diversity
- Familiarity with educational technology
