Description

Lamesa ISD is looking for a passionate, energetic, and caring Kindergarten Teacher who believes every childs educational journey begins with love, curiosity, and meaningful relationships. We are seeking an educator who creates a welcoming classroom where students feel safe to explore, ask questions, and develop the confidence to become lifelong learners.

As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will help our youngest Golden Tornadoes build the academic, social, emotional, and developmental skills that serve as the foundation for future success. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences and strong partnerships with families, youll inspire children to discover their potential while fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to succeed.
  • Design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that promote growth in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through hands-on, interactive learning experiences.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families to support each childs academic and personal development.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the unique learning needs and abilities of all students.
  • Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction.
  • Establish clear classroom expectations that promote positive behavior, responsibility, and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, instructional staff, and campus leaders to ensure student success and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and contribute to a collaborative, student-centered campus culture.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with appropriate certification for Early Childhood/Elementary education.
  • Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject areas.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of elementary curriculum and best instructional practices.
  • Understanding of child development and early learning strategies.
  • Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior support skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • Passion for helping young learners develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
