Job Purpose and Function
As a Kitchen Assistant Manager at Dash In, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our food service department. You will work closely with the Store Manager to lead and inspire a team dedicated to providing exceptional food service and achieving operational excellence. Your primary responsibilities include overseeing daily food preparation, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and implementing strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and drive sales growth. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the food service area, conducting regular performance evaluations, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, you will support the Store Manager in achieving financial targets, conducting audits, and stepping in as the acting Store Manager when needed.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the food service department by overseeing daily food preparation, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Team Leadership: Assist in recruiting, training, developing, and retaining a motivated and high-performing team. Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
- Guest Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional guest experiences by ensuring high-quality food service, addressing customer concerns promptly, and maintaining consistent food quality. Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Store Manager, other Guest Experience Managers, the Training Team, HR Business Partner, Category Management, and other Operational Managers to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement. Participate in regular meetings to discuss operational performance and implement improvement plans.
- Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with Dash In’s brand standards, health and safety regulations, and operational guidelines. Achieve or exceed performance standards in third-party audits and health inspections. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in operations, customer service, food service, and/or retail environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team.
- Ability to work a varied full-time schedule including days, nights, overnights, and weekends.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.

Availability and Travel
- A full-time employee may work up to 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime approved to meet business demands. The primary location will be the Dash In store where the associate was hired. No offsite travel will be required. Training will be conducted onsite at the store where the employee is hired.
