Reporting to the Store Manager (or his/her delegate), and supervised by the Kitchen Operations Specialist, the Kitchen Department Manager is responsible for delivering the department daily routine, controls its profit and loss, provides guidance, supervision to Kitchen staff members and training to Kitchen service staff members. Greet customers with a smile and enthusiasm; build rapport and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally. Manage daily operations and staff performance to meet department goals, ensuring efficiency and service excellence. Oversee product ordering, pricing accuracy, and proper labeling in alignment with company and merchandising strategies. Supervise and support junior team members; ensure fair task distribution and strict adherence to daily checklists. Provide hands-on coaching, training, and guidance to team members to promote continuous learning and improvement. Maintain product quality, food safety, freshness, and proper FIFO practices; ensure items like BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, and Sushi are well-packaged and displayed Conduct quality checks and inventory control; ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment maintenance meet safety standards. Promote teamwork and foster an inclusive, respectful work environment. Lead by example by actively participating in all hands-on duties required in the Kitchen Department. Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.
You Should Have/Be:
Good communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role preferred, demonstrating strong leadership and training abilities Familiar with kitchen-related products, packaging, display, and promotion techniques Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Well-versed in workplace health and safety practices. Familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role; able to accurately interpret product labels Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
