Kitchen Director – Stone Hearth Estates
Stone Hearth Estates is seeking a compassionate, organized, and hands-on Kitchen Director to lead our dining services team. This position plays a key role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents while ensuring quality food service, sanitation compliance, and strong kitchen operations.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with seniors, leads by example, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment.
Position Summary
The Kitchen Director is responsible for overseeing all food service operations including:
- Meal preparation and menu execution
- Kitchen staff supervision and scheduling
- Food ordering and inventory management
- Sanitation and infection control compliance
- Resident dietary accommodations
- Maintaining a positive dining experience for residents
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work closely with residents, families, and staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee nutritious, high-quality meals
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and supply levels
- Supervise, train, and support dietary staff
- Maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness
- Coordinate meal service for special events and resident needs
- Monitor portion control and food quality
- Promote excellent customer service and resident satisfaction
- Work collaboratively with administration and nursing staff
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or dietary management experience preferred
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
